IU Health Physicians is hiring! We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to help lead the Heart Center APP Team at our Level 3 NICU at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN!
Position Details :Clinical Responsibilities :
- Attend deliveries of high-risk neonatal patients
- Care for neonatal patients requiring ICU level care; develop plan of careÂ
- Perform procedures including intubations, line placements, PICC, UAL / UVL, chest tube placement and management, lumbar puncture, and thoracentesis.Â
- In collaboration with Riley's Neonatologists and subspecialty consulting physicians, provision of clinical management for level 3 and 4Â NICU patients
- Provision of patient and family centered care
Team Lead Responsibilities : Â
- Protected time (20%) - 8-hours per weekÂ
- Human Resources - Coordinates onboarding and orientation for new team members. Coordinates APP scheduling and staffing to provide coverage 7 days per weekÂ
- Program Support - Collaborates with medical director and intensivists to facilitate patient care and to implement projects and program development.
Communication liaison between NICU and CVICU APPs. Communication liaison for anything APP workflow. Coordinate with heart center educator for nursing education opportunities.Â
- Active participation in quality and safety initiativesÂ
- Active participation in Department of Neonatology and Advanced Practice Provider service specific educational and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree required
- NNP or PA-Neonatal certification required
- Open to internal and external candidatesÂ
- APP experience requiredÂ
- Leadership experience preferred Â
- NICU experience, ideally level 4, required
