EXPERIENCED REVENUE ACCOUNTANT

Cornerstone is seeking an Experienced Revenue Accounting Staff member. This position requires an individual who is smart, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, and goals oriented.

The person best fit for this position will be a team member of a diverse team of revenue accountants at various levels while setting a good example and being an effective partner throughout the organization.

This person must be able to communicate effectively both within and outside of the organization at a high level. In addition to supporting the month end revenue accounting close, you will partner with other finance teams, sales, and deal desk as necessary to support on revenue transactions and accounting issues.

The role includes responsibility for deal support, reviewing contracts & providing revenue related guidance during pre-contract stage, active engagement with stakeholders such as Sales, Business Finance Teams, and Legal to ensure revenue recognition concerns are highlighted at contracting stage, closing out deal reviews independently with minimum guidance.

In this role you will...

• Be the subject matter expert in revenue recognition, providing clear guidance in revenue documentation.
• Liaise with Legal, Deal Desk, Billings and / or Sales to resolve any issues identified in the deals.
• Assist with the daily operations of the revenue team to drive quality and efficiency.
• Assist with revenue monthly and quarterly close procedures to ensure timely and accurate closing of the books for internal and external reporting in accordance with U.

S. GAAP and SOX requirements.

• Review accounting for complex revenue recognition transactions. Document accounting conclusions and any potential revenue impact on deals that require finance approvals.
• Identify and help implement process improvements to streamline and scale our existing financial systems and operations.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned
• Liaise with internal and external groups, such as Billing, Collections, Deal Desk, Legal, Sales, Product, Internal Audit, External Audit

You've got what it takes if you...

• A bachelor's degree related to accounting / finance or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of related experience, including experience in either revenue recognition, revenue operations or finance operations
• Revenue recognition experience in a technology company, including ASC 606
• Team player with a focus on continual development, performance, accountability and self-motivation
• Track record of achieving results with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to interact upward and cross functionally.

Extra dose of awesomeness

• CPA License
• 2+ years Big 4 or National Firm experience
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud and Salesforce systems
• Experience with Enterprise SaaS business models
• Revenue recognition experience in a technology company, including ASC 606
• Experience with customer contracts with multiple performance obligations
• Interest in understanding how IT systems and workflows are designed
