JOB SUMMARY
The Orthopedic Registered Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care independently using standards of care, policy, and procedure.
Provides direct nursing care to patients, assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities, and participates in shared decision making, unit committee, and quality improvement activities with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements care plans.
- Coordinates care delivery and employs patient teaching.
- Evaluates progress and practices ethically.
- Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
- Communicates effectively and demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to provide safe, effective, and financially responsible nursing services.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- All new RNs will be placed in the RN Residency Program.
- Intermediate computer knowledge required.
