The UCI Paul Merage School of Business is expanding its Leadership Development Institute (LDI) team which supports both open enrollment and custom educational programs.

LDI was designed to provide individuals and organizations relevant and research-based solutions in order to build sustainable leadership curriculums providing leaders the ability to sustainably cultivate a cycle of resilience, engagement and reinvention.

Your Role on the Team

The Program Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of open enrollment and custom executive education programs and is a key member of The Paul Merage School of Business, Leadership Development Institute team.

The position is responsible for both existing and new educational program offerings and works on complex educational programs of diverse scope.

Programs may be online, virtual, or in-person. The Program Manager supports clients, faculty, and program participants in providing exceptional customer service during all aspects of the program preparation and delivery.

The incumbent effectively conducts program management through four process groups : (1) pre-launch planning, (2) event day executing, (3) monitoring and controlling, and (4) post-launch closing programs.

In conjunction with these process groups, the Program Manager employs various program management functions, which include scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, resource management, communications management, risk management, procurement management, and stakeholder management.

The Program Manager is able to fully integrate these functions across all four process groups to enable the effective and successful implementation of LDI programs.

This role requires strong project management, communication, and organizational skills to assist in the coordination of multiple programs being delivered consecutively.

The incumbent will use skills as an experienced educational program professional to resolve a wide range of educational program issues and effectively handle problems related to programs, faculty, and participants and systematize the solution and problem-solving process for future occurrences.

S / he is responsible for creating an optimal learning environment for participants and an optimal teaching environment for faculty through exemplary customer service and attention to detail.

The Program Manager creates evaluation tools and compiles evaluation results for LDI, faculty and client. The position may have evening and weekend work and occasional travel during program deliveries.

Due to the nature and responsibilities of the position, this is an on-site, in-person role. However, there will be some opportunity provided for remote work.

Responsibilities include : Program planning and execution of open-enrollment and custom leadership development programs. Administering and executing all details associated with program implementation.

Professionally representing LDI at programs with corporate executives, participants and faculty. Inspecting, visiting, and developing potential program sites including corporate site visits.

Implementing cost-effective processes. Identifying and developing evaluation tools for instructors and programs. Using skills as an experienced educational program professional to resolve a wide range of educational program issues and effectively handle problems related to programs, faculty, and participants and systematize the solution and problem-solving process for future occurrences.

Participating in developing strategic market plans, marketing collateral, proposals and program session materials.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $58,600- $69,150 (Annual).

Required :

  • Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs.
  • Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas.
  • Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs.
  • 3-5 years higher education program management experience, preferably in Executive Education, Learning and Development or Continuing Education environment.

Preferred :

  • Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures.
  • Prior supervisory experience (i.e., hiring, performance management, engagement, and development).
  • Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university or corporate level.
  • Thorough knowledge of training and development, performance management and workplace learning. Ability to apply knowledge to achieve successful organizational outcomes.
  • Thorough knowledge of current public educational programs and trends.

Special Conditions :

  • Occasional weekend and evening work hours to support programs.
  • A blend of on-campus and / or remote work may be applicable to the job.
  • May need to perform miscellaneous tasks and projects as directed.
