Description
Essential Job Functions :
- The incumbent must be able to consistently perform the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.*
- Leading multi-week group classes for puppies and adult dogs
- Combining positive reinforcement command, behavior, socialization, and wellness into their classes
- Conducting potential customer consultations
- Follows safe practices and procedures when introducing dogs
- Conduct potential customer consultations
- Actively engage pet parents to continue to grow the business
- Positively interact with pet parents in person, via email, text, and phone
- All other assigned duties from the Store Manager and / or any member of the Retail Leadership Team
Qualifications :
- Must be 18 years or older
- Minimum 1 year experience teaching in a group class setting
- Experience with private training
- Knowledge in command and behavioral based training
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent dog handling skills
- Must have a love for dogs and a keen sense for animal safety
- Must be observant
Physical Requirements :
- Position requires person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out)
- Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs
- Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
