POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by providing preliminary financial and operational analysis of the Surgical Services business line inclusive of Ambulatory Care Centers.
As a member of the surgical services operations team, the Business Analyst supports data analysis and design to identify and quantify opportunities for standardization, investigates and resolves problems, provides technical support and training for systems & software, and applies existing technology to enhance operations. Position is onsite.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Engages with Surgical Services operations team and leadership to accomplish aligned goals and initiatives.
- Participates in the value analysis process and purchase of new supply items.
- Draws up preliminary profitability analysis of the service lines and identifies variances
- Assists in the development of departmental reporting and analysis where specified technical skills are required, including creation and design of queries, reports, and other data-extraction techniques.
- Prepares analysis of surgical services variance reports to monitor expenses, examine profitability and maximize reimbursement;
helps identify initiatives to continually drive down costs.
- Performs cost benefit analysis for new service requests.
- Works with finance colleagues to develop pro-formas for capital equipment requests.
- Works with surgical staff to prepare annual capital requests for the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Anesthesia
- Reviews supply chain purchase orders
- Assists in the collection, consolidation, and validation of required information and data to maintain data integrity.
- Creates ad-hoc analyses and business forecasts.
- Identifies and assists in the implementation of cost reduction and process improvement projects.
- Participates in providing gap analyses, highlighting current state, future state, operational needs, and best practices.
