We are currently looking for an outstanding American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for a full-time opening in the Charleston, SC area for this 2024-2025 school year!

Requirements :
- South Carolina Certified Sign Language Interpreter
- Previous American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter experience in a school setting
Some Responsibilities :
- Provide in-person interpreting services between students, teachers, and other school personnel to ensure full access to classroom content and communication
- Assist students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in understanding lessons, assignments, and classroom discussions
- Support students in both academic and non-academic settings , including extracurricular activities, meetings, and assemblies
- Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to ensure students' needs are met
- Interpret standardized tests, IEP meetings, and parent-teacher conferences as needed
- Provide cultural mediation and ensure that students are fully integrated into the school environment
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Stay up to date with current ASL interpreting practices and educational resources
