The Role

We are seeking a BI Engineer to join our Finance team to lead the development of our Business Intelligence system in Domo.

You will lead the creation of StarRez’s internal BI platform, developing ETL pipelines and visualizations that will provide Instrumentation to drive decision making across the business.

You will own one of the highest visibility and impact projects at StarRez.

As a BI Engineer, you will be the functional owner of the BI platform. While reporting through the CFO organization, you will work cross-functionally with all business units and their leadership.

This work will elevate the Business Intelligence infrastructure through creation of KPI dashboards, designing data strategy, and implementing practices that deliver data visibility and confidence across the organization.

Role Specifics

• Work Location : Denver, CO (Hybrid 1-3 days in office) OR US Remote
• Travel : 10% The percent of travel is an estimation, and it could vary up or down based on business needs throughout the year.
• Reporting Structure : Reports to Sr. Director of Finance (FP&A and BI)

What You Will Own

• Lead the buildout of a data warehouse in Domo integrating data from key operating systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, HR platform(s), cloud management tools, etc.).
• Partner with systems owners across technical aspects of the business to build strong integrations and a framework for clean / clear data.
• Create Team Dashboards (instrumentation) by building dynamic Domo visualizations.
• Automate existing financial reporting that drive actionable insights.
• Work directly with business unit leaders to understand key data points for their departments, then implement appropriate data pipelines and visualizations.
• Synthesize substantial amounts of data into clear and actionable formats for business leaders, and identify strength and weaknesses in data infrastructure to improve.
• Assist the Sr. Director and CFO with other matters related to data strategy and the successful buildout, growth, and maintenance of a BI platform.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, math, or similar fields of study.
• 3 7 years of total professional experience including :
• 3+ years of experience building BI and visualization platforms, preferably with Domo or other systems (Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience querying, manipulating, and analyzing large, complex datasets (SQL preferred).
• 1+ years of experience with design and implementation of data warehousing architecture.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to clearly communicate technical details of data and visualizations.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, math, or similar fields of study.
• SaaS or technology company business experience preferred.
• Experience using Salesforce, NetSuite, HR platform(s).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and database tools(PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, etc.).
