Job Details
- Unit Managers who are responsible for managing Assistant Unit Managers, Registered Nurses and related support staff assigned to a specialty critical care, specialty care or non-specialty patient care units.
- This position oversees the day-to-day unit operations and assumes 24-hour responsibility.
- Under direction, supervises a patient care unit at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and all staff assigned to a single patient care unit within a service line;
performs related duties as required.
- This position is responsible for managing and supervising a large staff of Assistant Unit Managers, and Registered Nurses and related support staff assigned to a specialty critical care, specialty care or non-specialty patient care units including the day-to-day operations and assumes 24 hour responsibility.
- Unit Manager is distinguished from Nurse Supervisor in that the latter is responsible for a small nursing program, department or service and staff.
- Further distinguished from the Assistant Unit Manager series as this classification has full responsibility for the management and budgetary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a unit.
- Positions report to a Clinical Director II and the Associate Chief Nursing Officer.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of nursing experience required
- At least 1+ year of recent / current Supervisor / Interim experience required
- MSN or BSN + MA in Healthcare Administration required
- NICU experience a PLUS
