About The Position
Job Title : Occupational Therapist Job Specialty : Acute Care Therapy Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Days (7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm, including 2 to 3 weekends;
weekends may require both days, with compensatory time off) Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Not specified License : Occupational Therapy License in accordance with local regulations Certifications : None specified Must-Have : Ability to work Labor Day if desired Job Description : Provide individualized occupational therapy treatment for patients in an acute care setting.
- Perform evaluations, treatment interventions, and participate in team conferences.- Utilize computerized charting systems and have access to therapy tools such as UE Bioness and Dynavision.
- Maintain a professional appearance in business casual attire.- Manage an average caseload of 4-5 patients per day with variations depending on patient volume;
department with 21 beds.- Participate in an orientation program, which includes specific training for computer documentation and department procedures over several days.
- Treat patients with varying diagnoses, including orthopedic, neurological, and general medical disorders.- Evaluate and treat medically complex and often unstable patients with ongoing assessments and treatment plan adjustments.
- Demonstrate advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for managing high-volume and dynamic caseloads.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and comfort, facilitate scheduling, and support discharge planning.
- Supervise certified occupational therapist assistants, aides, and students as necessary during their provision of patient care and services.
- Adhere to the scope and standards of occupational therapy practice as outlined by professional associations and regulatory bodies.
- Flexible scheduling required, with shifts primarily Monday through Friday, generally 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm; one weekend per month required.
