ability to walk significant distances Job Description : - Compile health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness.
- Organize medical reports for placement in files and review charts to ensure all reports and signatures are present.- Prepare charts for new admissions, fill out forms, and prepare requests for specific reports or certificates.
- Compile and type statistical reports such as daily and monthly census, admissions, discharges, and length of stay.- File reports into health information records and manage information in logs.
- Provide information from health records after determining the appropriateness of a request.- Coordinate with other departments regarding health information records procedures.
Major Worker Characteristics : - Knowledge of health information technology, regulatory requirements for medical record keeping, confidentiality of patient information, and medical terminology.
- Skilled in using word processors and calculators.- Ability to solve problems within familiar contexts, write routine business letters, and proofread and identify errors in medical reports.
- Recognize missing information and classify data effectively.
