About the Opportunity
To build a Natural Language Processing (NLP)-based online program that matches HSC faculty investigators' research interests with funding opportunity announcements from federal funding agencies on a continuous basis, and alerts faculty investigators of the opportunities that are most appropriate for them in a timely manner.
What You'll Do
- Research Assistant will work with faculty and staff throughout West Virginia University and various partner sites.
- Perform duties assigned by principal investigator within time frame assigned.
- Will assist principal investigators and project managers in conducting grant-funded research and research study related tasks
- Conduct literature reviews for investigators
- Assist with the creation of graphs, spreadsheets, and posters for research presentations
Pay Grade : 15
Length of Assignment : Approximately 3.5 month
Work Hours : 20 Hours per week
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree on a related field
- Experience in the following :
- Proficiency in computer-based skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Any equivalent combination of related education and / or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
- Within seven (7) days of hire must have completed certification in HIPAA and CITI assigned courses.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Must have the ability to multitask, maintain organization, attention to detail, and strong written and communication skills.
- Develop knowledge of research protocol and study designs
- Ability to meet project deadlines.
- Participate, assist, and organizing of meetings, trainings. workshops, and research events
- Reliable device to regularly check emails and other forms of communications.
