• 12-hour night OR 12-hour day scheduling options available.\n\nChildren's Nebraska has an exciting opportunity to join our Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Transport team!\n\nOur NNPs work collaboratively with flight nurses to provide state-of-the-art neonatal care, utilizing fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and critical care ground ambulances throughout Nebraska and surrounding states. As a stand-alone neonatal team, we often operate in multiple states within a single shift. Transporting neonates demands critical thinking and places personnel in diverse situations with unique logistical challenges. Are you up for the challenge?\n\nChildren's Hospital of Nebraska offers a unique opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated neonatal transport team. As a free-standing hospital with over 75 years of service, we provide exceptional care to children nationwide, including our 52-bed Level 4 NICU. Our CAMTS-accredited transport team, comprised of NNPs, Flight Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians, works collaboratively to deliver outstanding patient care. We operate four ground ambulances and often utilize Children's Hospital dedicated air assets such as an EC130 helicopter and a Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft.\n\nThe NNP is responsible for managing the care and transport of neonates from referring facilities. This role requires proficiency in flight and ambulance treatment modalities, altitude physiology, and emergency procedures. Utilizing an advanced nursing process, the NNP will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while accurately documenting patient responses and outcomes.\n\nThis position requires proficiency in neonatal pathophysiology and technical skills, including lab and x-ray interpretation, intubation, line placement, thoracentesis, thoracotomy, and intraosseous access. In collaboration with physicians and referral teams, the NNP must demonstrate strong leadership through nursing judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. As an advocate for patients and families, the NNP must maintain professional conduct and communication. • Education as required by Department of Health and Human Services-Regulation and Licensure Credentialing Division as represented by APRN licensure in the State of Nebraska Required\n\nWork Experience\n
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Required and\n
• Previous neonatal transport experience required\n\nLicenses and Certifications\n
• Current and valid unrestricted Nebraska state licensure (e.g., APRN, PA, RN) Required and\n
• BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association Required and\n
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 180 Days Required and\n
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation within 180 Days Required and\n
• NNP-BC - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Board Certified Required and\n
• DEA License within 30 Days Required\n
• Satisfy all relevant criteria and qualifications outlined in the Medical Staff Policy on Allied Health Professional, required to be credentialed. Required and\n
• Must have valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record Required and\n
• Must be able to work in an environment which includes the use of ambulance, helicopter, and airplane patient transport vehicles that results in exposure to non-conventional motions, noise, vibration, fumes and extreme heat / cold. Required and\n
• Due to the aircraft the Organization utilizes for both rotary and fixed wing, all Transport applicants must be 225 lbs or under at time of hire.
