Certification Details
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
- Need 2 supervisor references at submittal; 1 within 12 months & 1 within 3 years worked.
- PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE.
- THIS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS.
- PLEASE NOTE IT'S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET TWO ATTEMPTS.

- A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced ICU nurses for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.

Schedule Information
- 12 hr shifts. 7 - 730. Report is at the bedside.
- OT and extra shifts are available.
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
- Schedules are out 4 weeks.
- Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
- Block scheduling is generally not available.
- Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
- Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling.

- Unit : ICU
- Beds : 8 beds
- Certs : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Ratios : 1 : 1-2
- EMR : Cerner
- Charge Nurse : Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
- Nurse Aides : Yes as census and staffing dictates
- Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
- Holidays : Rotate in with core staff
- Scrub Color : Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black.
- Tele : Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
- Vents : Yes. Gallileo and G5s.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : No. Utilize Telemed robot.
- IV Team : No
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
- Floating : All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
- Floor specific orientation : 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : General medical / surgical population. Stable CVA post TPA, resp failure, manual proning, COPD, CHF, DKA.
No CABG or Neuro surgery.
Additional Details
- Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
- Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital.
- Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
