Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a Surgeon, the Surgical Technologist First Assistant assists with the intraoperative care of the surgical patient.
- Provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical skills used to assist the Surgeon to provide optimal results for the patient.
Qualifications
Education :
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology and Surgical Assisting.
- Must maintain CEUs as defined by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
Experience :
Minimum of five years perioperative patient care.
License(s) / Certification(s) :
- CPR certification is required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist-First Assist certification required through an accredited program.
