How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse t eam of unique individuals who all make an impact. You will assemble, test, and repair, components according to blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, or sketches.
This is a cross functional role working closely with quality and material handling to exceed customer satisfaction and meet on time delivery.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be :
- Safety
- Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
- Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
- Ensure proper and effective operation of equipment and tools. Report repairs and / or issues to team lead or supervisor.
- Quality
- Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects.
- Monitor quality of own work and immediately report defective material,unusual conditions, and / or operating difficulties to team lead or supervisor.
- Perform light maintenance on tools, equipment, machines, and other devicesusedin thenormal course of the work performed.
- Delivery
- Ability to read work orders.
- Utilize small tools such as grinders to remove scratches, excess weldmaterial and burrs.
- Assemble by hand, hand tools, portable power tools, or other equipment necessary to complete finished product.
- Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts, production items, and product components.
- Load / unload parts, items, and components using hand truck, pallet jacks, hoists, cranes, and other mechanical aids.
- Daily documentation of work performed for required production records.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has :
Required Experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Assemblers in testing roles require 1 year of previous experience.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Process improvement mindset.
- Safety oriented.
- Excellent attendance.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
