About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Director of Survey Operations to lead our land surveying department. This role is perfect for someone who values accuracy, efficiency, and high standards of quality.

As the ideal candidate, you'll be a licensed Professional Surveyor (PS) with a solid background in various types of land surveying, including boundary, topographic, route, engineering design surveys, and construction layout.

Your expertise and leadership will be key in ensuring our projects run smoothly and clients stay satisfied.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage the daily operations of our surveying department, ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Oversee data collection and survey operations for boundary, topographic, route, and engineering design surveys.
• Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, managing expectations, and ensuring they receive outstanding service.
• Mentor and support survey staff, encouraging professional growth and teamwork.
• Ensure all survey activities align with legal and regulatory standards.
• Conduct fieldwork when needed, including construction layout and calculations for land and civil engineering projects.
• Manage data systems to maintain the accuracy of information transfer between field instruments, legal descriptions, and construction plans.
• Stay proficient with tools like AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), along with other relevant surveying technologies.
• Collaborate closely with our civil engineering team to align efforts and contribute to the firm's success.

What You Bring

• Professional Surveyor (PS) licensure is required.
• Extensive experience in land surveying, including boundary, topographic, route, and engineering design surveys.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and other relevant software.
• A strong understanding of construction layout, field calculations, and managing data across legal descriptions, plans, and fieldwork.
• Proven leadership skills, with experience managing teams and overseeing field operations.
• A genuine ability to build and maintain client relationships, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an eye for detail in survey documentation.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy.
