Position Title : Quality Assurance Engineer

Location : Montgomery, AL

Work Mode : 100% onsite

Position Status : Contract

Pay Rate : $33.00 - $43.00 / hr

Interview Mode : 1-2 rounds, first round will be MS Teams, 2nd round onsite

Position Description : Collaborate with IT project lead, technical lead, development team and end users to design, plan, execute and validate scenarios, scripts, and procedures to test the system functionality prior to implementation. Identify bugs through systematic manual and / or automated testing of systems and application software.

Participate in design and requirements reviews, design and develop testing procedures and implement various types of tests to include :

Functional

Integration

Regression

Performance tests Evaluate the testing and recommend improvements in the validation strategy. Work closely with the development team to understand features, help reproduce errors and ensure defects are resolved.

Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed. Adhere to standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent execution of testing procedures.

Utilize all support tools as directed including but not limited to entering all appropriate information (such as Product Backlog Item, tasks and bugs) into Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and create :

Testing status

Defect reports

Software maturity metrics Interacts with multiple organizations and management levels. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Provide the artifacts / deliverables per direction of and assignment by the Agency Project Sponsor and / or the Agency Project Manager.

Report accurately on test results, providing a test summary after each sprint to Release manager. Report on the impact of proposed changes to product definition on the testing process.

Skills Required

Experience developing software tests for functional, performance and regression testing that include automated testing, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements.

Experience in SIT, End-to-End and UAT testing.

In-depth knowledge of testing Web-based applications.

Ability to break down prioritized requirements into individual sprints.

Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps. Skills Preferred

Automation Testing Experience Required

Minimum of 4 years' experience in software application testing. Experience Preferred

Experience with State Government, Medicaid, CHIP, and DHR business area or health care industry Education Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience Education Preferred

Advanced education in fields related to the position and Certification for Software Testing. Additional Information

Candidate will work 100% onsite in Montgomery, AL. No remote work will be considered at this time.

Submitting vendor can use only one (1) level of sub-vendor candidates for submittal if necessary.

This position has the possibility of converting to merit.
