Job Summary

In addition, this job also performs clerical duties including : maintaining patient records, scheduling patients for tests / procedures, transcribing physician orders, ordering supplies, and acting as a liaison between physicians, nursing, hospital staff, families, guests and patients.
Recognizes and reports arrhythmia and computer data to the Registered Nurse.
Accountabilities
- Maintains accurate patient records; ensures that charts are current, complete and thinned as needed according to Policies and Procedures.
- Correctly schedules diagnostic procedures, exams and special procedures in a timely manner.
- Accurately transcribes physician orders.
- Adequately orders, stores and maintains supplies.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing, hospital staff, families, guests and patients.
- Utilizes communication equipment effectively and relays information to appropriate personnel.
- Accurately informs physician and ancillary departments of patient admission, discharge, transfer or death in a timely manner.
- Accurately recognizes and reports arrhythmia and computer data according to Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains proper documentation of patient records according to Policies and Procedures.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
HS Diploma or GED is preferred.
The US portion of this job requires :
unit secretary or on-the-job training; or
6 months of clerical or healthcare related experience; or
completion of a nursing fundamentals class.

In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements
The US training / experience requirement will be waived if the applicant has successfully passed the Prisma Health arrhythmia exam.
Other Requirements for the Monitor Tech role
After hire, requires attendance of formal arrhythmia training class and successful completion of the Prisma Health Arrhythmia exam with a minimum passing score within 2 attempts.
Successful completion of the arrhythmia exam must be completed within 30 days of hire.
Arrhythmia competencies must be maintained on an annual basis if selected into a monitor tech role.
