Job Description

As a Psychologist, you will utilize your expert knowledge of human behavior and mental processes to assess, diagnose, and treat various psychological disorders and emotional difficulties.

You will work with individuals, couples, families, and groups to develop and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions to promote mental health and well-being.

Additionally, you will conduct research, administer psychological tests, and provide consultation to other professionals.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong ability to empathize with clients, and a commitment to delivering ethical and evidence-based psychological services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments, testing, and evaluations to diagnose mental health disorders and developmental disorders
  • Administer and interpret psychological testing to assess cognitive abilities, learning and social level, and emotional functioning
  • Acts as an interdisciplinary team member in special education eligibility process
  • Articulate test results to parents and multidisciplinary team in clear, understandable language attending to cultural sensitivity
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on individualized client needs and goals
  • Provide evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, families, and facilitate groups
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
  • Conduct research to contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the field of psychology
  • Provide consultation to other healthcare professionals regarding psychological and behavioral issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
  • Stay informed about current research, theories, and treatment modalities in the field of psychology
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting
  • Strong understanding of psychological assessment and intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of and adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and build strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in using computer software for documentation and data analysis
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and treatment approaches
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin and / or Cantonese
