Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX.

This is a 12 + month contract position.

Responsibilities :

Lead and / or participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities

Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and / or analytical tasks and activities A technology subject matter expert

Provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and / or vendors

Responsible for multiple, complex projects

Recommend, design, develop, and implement software and hardware solutions

Provide Operating System technical and break / fix level support

Requirements :

10+ years of systems engineering experience

Senior level experience Primarily with Linux

Experience with IBM AIX OS is a plus

Shell scripting and automation skills

Proficient in performing OS administration tasks on RHEL6, RHEL7 running on ESX virtualized servers

In depth Linux knowledge, including LVM and SAN multipathing

Expertise in RedHat Linux Clustering Solutions

Proficient in performing OS administration tasks on SLES 11+ running on bare metal Client ProLiant DL580 Gen8 servers

Proficient in troubleshooting any RHEL6, RHEL7 and SLES 11+ software and hardware issues

Experience in supporting and administration of SLES11+ running HANA DB

Experience installing, configuring and Supporting Puppet

Experience with multipath, VAS / AD, yum, BladeLogic and ProLiant DL series, HP3PAR and Client Smart storage arrays admin CLIs

Experience on AIX virtualization, Install upgrade and configure VIO servers and clients, AIX PowerHA clustering

Knowledge of SAN based disk solutions and their configurations

Able to debug and troubleshoot network, performance and software issues

Familiarity with tools like BladeLogic, DNT, ESM, vsphere client

Able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment

Able to work independently but also must be strong in team partnership

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Exposure to SAP product suite

Broad knowledge of IBM Power servers, DB2 Database, SAP Core financial applications, NetApp Filer storage, Cisco based networks, SAP BWA application appliances, SAP HANA database technology

Very large scale transactional processing

Pay Range : $63.68 - $71.68
