The Department of English and Comparative Literature (ECL) at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill seeks to hire an Assistant Professor with a teaching load of two courses per semester (2 / 2);
faculty members teach one graduate course every two years.
The successful candidate can expect to design a range of courses for undergraduate and graduate students, including survey courses, special topics, and research seminars.
Faculty at all levels advise and mentor students, oversee independent research projects, engage in an appropriate amount of service, and participate actively in the intellectual life of the Department and the University.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Required qualifications : in English or related field (doctorate must be in hand by date of appointment) and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
