Position Overview

As we grow and adapt to the changing media landscape, we're looking for a proven accountant with a strong understanding of accounting principles and impeccable ethics to service the Company's accounting and budget management functions.

We need someone with the drive to constantly innovate and improve the accounting processes. The senior accountant will be responsible ensuring Company accounting procedures conform to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and corporate policies.

This position will also work in collaboration with the chief financial officer, and the directors of finance.

Note : Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

This position is a hybrid role that requires the employee to sometimes work at one of our market sites. Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.

What You Will Do :

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to :

  • Assist directors of finance with accounting and prepare journal entries
  • Assist with management of accounting, auditing, reporting, and budgeting
  • Reconcile accounts for accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Prepare reports for CFO, controller, and upper management
  • Assist in the accounting and adjustments in the accounts receivable aging
  • Prepare / approve purchase orders
  • Assist in calculation of commissions, talent fees, and taxable fringe for payroll
  • Act as backup to accounting clerks when needed to assist with billing, payment application, and follow up on outstanding items
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations.
  • Proficient in Excel and other financial systems.
  • Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to handle stress.
  • Ability to consistently work hours required. Works more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, evenings, etc.
  • Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management and clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality by not discussing internal matters, company strategies, client's proprietary information, personnel matters, wage and salary information or any sensitive information with clients, competitors, listeners, the media or inappropriately with co-workers, and by not distributing our proprietary research or other information to our competitors.
  • Proven ability to handle stress and multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Radio / TV / Media experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field (master's preferred).
  • CPA or CMA preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and / or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sit and / or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.

Compensation

$85,000-$113,000 This range is inclusive of multiple job levels.

Salary / Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
