Title : Director, Environment Management

Location : Chicago IL

Role Description :

As an Environment Management Director you will be responsible for partnering with engineering, infrastructure, test, and business teams to ensure our environments are available for its tenant with any changes or improvements well tested and communicated prior to making them.

The role requires a combination of technical and coordination skills to help determine environment needs and its implementation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Functions as a subject matter expert in release and environment management with a deep understanding of environment requirements
  • Monitors and governs release management processes
  • Establish environment roadmaps
  • Ensures requirements have been met prior to production releases
  • Coordinate implementation of environment changes
  • Ensure consistency between environments is maintained
  • Coordination validation of changes after implementation
  • Establishing rules and guidelines about environment access
  • Monitor environment alerts and ensure they are being addressed by resolution teams
  • Work with vendor management on licensing and renewals
  • Participate in capacity management reviews to ensure we have capacity to support current and future state
  • Ensure backup schedules are in place and being executed
  • Ensure communications are sent for environment changes, application changes, outages etc. to tenants
  • Coordinate data refreshes with DBA teams and tenants
  • Ensure teams have schedule in place to avoid certification expiration
  • Other duties as assigned

What are we looking for?

  • US work authorization
  • Someone who embodies being Oaky
  • 7-10 years of applicable experience
  • Change and Release Management experiences for both Agile and Waterfall project releases
  • Solid MS Dynamics 365, MS Azure knowledge and DevOps Experience
  • Agile Release Management, Agile delivery Experience
  • A strong and confident communicator, able to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
  • Project management - creation and maintenance of plans, risks, issues etc.
  • Experience with application and SaaS development release processes
  • Experience creating detailed production implementation plans and performing mock dress rehearsals in a production release environment is desired
  • Experience with the full project life cycle, who has a positive attitude when approaching complex IT solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands
  • Proficiency in process formulation and communication to others
  • Proven ability to build relationships and to influence individuals at all levels in the organization, as well as with external vendors and service providers, to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and coordinated
