Job Opportunity : Estimating Director Renewable Energy Remote - Northeast Up to $240k with Bonus

Location : Northeast Region (Remote Work Setup, Main Office in Boston, MA)

Role Overview :

The Estimation Director will spearhead the strategic direction for Distributed Generation (DG) and Large-Scale solar project estimations.

This role focuses on crafting and executing estimation strategies, improving service performance, and streamlining processes.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in estimating for renewable energy projects, particularly large-scale solar, and will oversee a team of estimators while working closely with engineering and supply chain departments.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategy Development : Design and implement best practices to enhance estimation services and performance.
  • Efficiency Improvement : Drive process enhancements through documentation and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Performance Metrics : Develop metrics to evaluate estimation performance and monitor progress against goals.
  • Team Leadership : Delegate tasks, mentor, and provide technical guidance to the estimating team.
  • Risk Assessment and Compliance : Review and assess RFPs, engineering documents, and quotes to identify risks and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Collaboration : Partner with engineering and supply chain teams to optimize costs during bid preparation.
  • Reporting : Create monthly progress reports on bid outcomes for management review.
  • Process Automation : Lead initiatives to automate and refine estimating processes.
  • Cost Estimation for Large-Scale Projects : Develop and enhance cost estimating methodologies for large-scale solar projects, leveraging existing tools and techniques.

Qualifications & Experience :

Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in estimating for large-scale solar projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within an estimating team.
  • Solid background in DG and Large-Scale project operations.

Preferred :

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Mathematics, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with strategic planning and policy / legal aspects.
  • Certification or experience in Quality or Process Improvement methodologies.
