ABOUT THE POSITION : The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities.

The position reports to the Assistant Controller and will work closely with the Controller and C-Suite staff, as needed. Training will be conducted onsite at the corporate office.

Thereafter, the hybrid schedule is currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays in-office. Extended hours and occasional weekend work may be required to meet deadlines, audits, or cycle closures.

POSITION DUTIES

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial information, quarterly and year-end close.
• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
• Respond to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, or other special reporting requests.
• Work with the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit, special projects, and audit requests.
• Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Monitor and analyze department work for accuracy and efficiency. Co-develop and implement procedures and features for efficiency, accuracy, and security.
• Provide training to new and existing staff, as needed.
• Support management with special projects and workflow process improvements.
• Support budget and forecasting activities.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong MS Excel proficiency (i.e. Pivot table, Macro, etc.).
• Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or other ERP system experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum seven years of accounting work.
• CPA preferred.
