Position Summary :

The Senior GL Accountant will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents for the company. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, particularly within the new home construction industry, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities :

• General Ledger :

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and cash transactions.

Complete review of final closing statement (HUD / ALTA), and review of job cost summaries. Review for accuracy and provide variance explanations to projected results.

Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Prepare monthly related party rebills for payroll and benefits.

Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost management.
