Job Summary : The Clinical Support Specialist will report directly to our Lab Clinical Director and will be instrumental in fostering a culture of learning and development.

This role involves planning, designing, and coaching practices on orthodontic appliances, supporting inventory and product management, investigating errors and remakes, and enhancing quality checks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental anatomy, appliance construction, and design philosophy.

Key Responsibilities :

Appliance Planning and Design :

Developing and planning orthodontic appliances to ensure the highest quality of care.

Providing expert design coaching to orthodontic practices.

Collaborative Design :

Working closely with orthodontists to co-design appliances tailored to specific patient needs and clinical requirements.

Specialty Design Support :

Serving as a resource for orthodontic specialty design questions.

Offering guidance and support to ensure accurate and effective appliance fabrication.

Inventory and Product Management :

Assisting in managing inventory prices and product information.

Ensuring the lab maintains competitive and accurate pricing structures.

Warranty and Quality Assurance :

Overseeing warranty claims and product warranties.

If necessary / needed : Investigating errors or remakes and developing strategies to enhance quality and reduce the need for rework.

Cross-departmental Workflow :

Gaining a comprehensive understanding of workflows across various departments within the lab.

Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Customer Service Excellence :

Prioritizing exceptional customer service.

Ensuring clear and effective communication with orthodontic practices to build strong, lasting relationships.

Task Management and Problem-Solving :

Demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Solving operational challenges with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications : Certification

Certification

Active licensed Dental Assistant is a requirement.

Experience :

4+ years of hands-on experience with orthodontic appliances.

Strong understanding of orthodontic treatment principals.

Familiarity with digital dentistry and 3D Printing technologies is a plus.

Clinical Knowledge :

Solid foundation in orthodontic principles, techniques, and materials. Knowledge of dental anatomy, tooth movement, and orthodontic mechanics is essential.

Communication Skills :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate with orthodontists, lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • The ability to explain complex technical concepts in an understandable manner is important.

Problem-Solving Abilities :

Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to appliance design, fit and function and to develop quality improvement plans.

Customer Service Orientation :

A commitment to providing high-quality customer service, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships with customers.

Teamwork and Collaboration :

The capability to work effectively within a team environment, sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.

A commitment to staying current with the latest developments in orthodontic technology, techniques, and materials through continuing education and professional development.

Organizational Skills :

The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
