HVAC Project Manager - Commercial
Salary : 90,000 - 125,000 / year
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial HVAC Project Manager to oversee and manage HVAC projects from conception through completion.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background as a hands-on HVAC technician combined with strong project management skills.
This role requires a leader who is adept at coordinating complex projects, managing teams, and ensuring that HVAC systems are installed, maintained, and serviced to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
Project Management : Plan, execute, and oversee commercial HVAC projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Team Coordination : Lead and manage project teams, including HVAC technicians, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure clear communication and effective collaboration among all team members.
- Client Liaison : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Address client inquiries, manage expectations, and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Technical Oversight : Utilize hands-on HVAC experience to provide technical guidance and support to the team. Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance work complies with industry standards and codes.
- Quality Assurance : Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure that HVAC systems are installed and functioning correctly.
Address any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Budget Management : Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost control and efficiency. Review and approve purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
- Compliance : Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Obtain and manage necessary permits and inspections.
Documentation : Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, project plans, progress reports, and change orders.
Ensure that all documentation is complete and accessible.
Problem-Solving : Identify and resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Implement solutions to prevent delays and minimize disruptions.
Requirements
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC or related field preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC, with at least 2 years in a project management role. Prior hands-on experience as an HVAC technician is essential.
- Skills : Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in HVAC systems, installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry best practices. Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
