Job Description :

The University of Florida is currently accepting applications for a tenure-line Assistant / Associate Professor of School Psychology.

Applicants should be highly promising or established scholars with strong methodological skills; a record of, or strong potential for, procuring external funding;

and the ability and drive to network with others in studying complex societal problems.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to maintain a well-developed, systematic line of research, obtain external funding, supervise graduate student research and field-based experiences, and teach graduate courses in an APA-accredited and CAEP / NASP-approved School Psychology Program.

Specific areas of research and teaching specialization are open but preferably complement research of current college and / or program faculty.

Minimum qualifications include a doctorate in school psychology or a closely related field, preferably from an APA-accredited program.

Candidates with experience with children and youth in educational settings and eligibility for certification and / or licensure in Florida are preferred.

The 9-month faculty appointment will begin in August 5 and includes the possibility of summer employment. Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The position provides a negotiable start-up package that may include reduced initial teaching, advising, and service loads, as well as moving expenses, computer and technology resources, and a graduate research assistant.

The School Psychology Program is housed within the School of Special Education, School Psychology, and Early Childhood Studies.

The school’s faculty and four associated centers are national leaders in generating more than $ million in external funding providing excellent opportunities for collaboration and support for research and scholarly productivity.

The school psychology program is most closely affiliated with the multidisciplinary center, the UF Prevention and Intervention Network (PIN) for Youth, Families, and Communities.

PIN’s mission is to promote the healthy development and wellbeing of youth through prevention and intervention research and engagement.

Minimum Requirements :

An earned doctorate in school psychology or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • A strong record of or potential for : (a) research and scholarly writing; (b) success in seeking, securing and / or administering external grants or contracts as related to rank;
  • c) successful teaching at the university level; (d) mentoring doctoral students and / or post-doctoral associates; (e) transdisciplinary scientific collaborations;

and (f) service and outreach to the psychology and education community.
