Responsibilities :

Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.Assists nurse with patient care.Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.

Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.

Assists in decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instruments in sterile processing.

Education and Certification Requirements :

Accredited Program : Surgical Technologist (Required)BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)

Additional Job Information :

Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience : No prior work experience required.

Other Information : Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred.Additional Education Info : Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
