THE WORK
In this role, you will supervise our material handling operations at our brand-new warehouse. This warehouse will support multiple sites within RMS and will be a unique opportunity to stand up a new storage and distribution facility within the Lockheed Martin network.
Responsibilities of this role include :
- Supervising employees who use equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, carts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within our plant, office, or warehouse.
- Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition / disciplinary actions.
- Overseeing the unpackaging and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Determining appropriate containers and wrapping methods for materials to be shipped or stored.
- Providing direction for daily operations, actively assisting or providing guidance to subordinates as required.
- Developing work assignments and assessing performance to ensure projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and work plans.
- Acting as a point of contact for questions or issues, interacting with senior internal personnel on significant matters.
- Ensuring execution and continuous improvement of processes and procedures, developing solutions to complex problems.
- Supporting corrective action investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing innovations and process improvements.
- Maintaining 6S / lean processes for the area of responsibility.
- Assisting with other duties as required by the Warehouse Leadership Team.

- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Green belt certified
