Certified Surgical Technician is needed for a busy hospital system in Charleston, South Carolina. Sign On Bonus and / or Relocation assistance being offered in this position.
The ideal candidate will be a Certified Surgical Technician or Registered Nurse with experience in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel.
This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, aseptic techniques, and experience in various medical settings.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery
- Set up surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist the surgical team during procedures
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical process
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures
- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly
- Perform pre and post-operative duties as needed
Requirements :
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist and 2 years of surgical work experience or Active Registered Nurse licensure and 2 years of surgical work experience
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and infection control practices
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience working in an OR, Level II Trauma Center, or acute care setting
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
- Pediatric surgical experience is a plus
- Strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions
Sign on bonus is being offered as well as relocation.
