Senor Sisig, The Filipino-American cuisine pioneer, is currently looking for an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Assistant General Manager at our new Downtown Oakland location.

In addition to general managerial duties, this person will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient service. This is a full-time salaried position, with great benefits.

The ideal candidate has restaurant management experience, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership abilities, and technical skills.

Previous bar program management experience is a plus. We are seeking a highly energetic, charismatic, leader with a minimum of 1-2 years of successful managerial experience with a stable job history.

The candidate will be self-motivated and driven to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for all team members and guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Lead the restaurant team with the GM in the execution of Senor Sisig standards to create excellent customer experiences
  • Ensure that all food and drinks are consistently prepared and served according to Senor Sisig's quality standards
  • Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales, and growing the business in support of financial goals
  • Partner with GM to interview, hire, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and develop all FOH and BOH hourly employees
  • Monitor, address, and document individual hourly employee performance through ongoing feedback, positive recognition, coaching and, when necessary, disciplinary action up to and including employment termination
  • Recognize outstanding work performance while providing necessary constructive feedback
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, and labor costs
  • Communicate clearly with FOH, BOH, and guests.
  • Have a genuine sense of hospitality
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the restaurant utilizing open / close checklists to preserve the cleanliness of the unit including equipment maintenance and safety
  • Covering shifts as needed
  • Financial oversight, scheduling, and work towards cultivating a healthy team dynamic.
  • Monthly Restaurant P&L and budget adherence.
  • Utilizing financial tools and analyzing financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in-store performance.
  • Ensuring that all productivity numbers, sales, and budgets are met.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage Inventory Systems
  • Ensure proper food storage, quality and presentation standards, including temperature controls
  • Monitor and ensure the restaurant and the team’s compliance with all Company and restaurant policies and procedures as well as all legal and regulatory requirements (including but not limited to safety and sanitation regulations and alcohol management)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Model and promote teamwork
  • Commitment to excellent hospitality
  • Minimum 1-2 years of management experience
  • Experience managing a bar program is a plus
  • Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of daily restaurant financial practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats
  • Eye for detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
  • Adjust to changing schedules and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • The physical ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds
  • CA Food Manager Certification

Salary : $70,000-$75,000 (+bonus), based on experience
