What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Manager, Finance will report to the VP, Controller and be responsible for : contract, profitability and budget / forecast analysis, monthly close oversight, client reporting, fixed assets and accounts receivable;

all of which revolve around adhering to strict deadlines and providing accurate and pertinent analysis / information.

This position will be located at our AAA / MTM Phoenix office.

What You’ll Do :

  • Conduct contract, budget and profitability analysis for the state of Arizona
  • Understand and articulate the various drivers that impact revenue and expenses; including but not limited to driver productivity, member utilization and behavior, geographical variances, etc.
  • Coordinate reporting of financial information to the corporate office monthly to ensure monthly close deadlines are met
  • Participate and assist in execution of Financial Review meetings to drive forward cost-saving opportunities, and financial understanding of associated company financials, from both an actual and a budget perspective
  • Analyze factors driving any significant variances in revenue or expenses from prior month, budget / forecast, or other contract expectations
  • Assist in quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
  • Provide financial guidance and support to leadership by interpreting financial data and delivering actionable recommendations
  • Analyze and problem solve issues with internal and external data
  • Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset system including analyzing capital projects for budget adherence, asset additions / retirements, running depreciation, reconciling to the GL and maintaining the roll forward schedule
  • Assist local offices with vehicle registration and the maintenance of titles
  • Oversee customer invoicing for the state of Arizona and assist with managing cash collection
  • Establish solid relationships with the finance counterparts at existing customers
  • Manage the cashiers for the taxi operation and provide oversight to the driver payment function
  • Develop and ensure an appropriate control environment, including segregation of duties
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Manage, develop and provide continuous coaching to associates in order to meet / exceed Accounting performance expectations and goals
  • Contribute to the team by completing other projects and tasks as assigned

What You’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Analytics
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Finance or Accounting role
  • Previous data analysis experience
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, and Word, including creating and updating Pivot Tables, along with the ability to import / export data to / from various data sources

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and meet established deadlines and goals
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning, and / or a similar financial system and EPM software preferred
  • Strong and accurate data analysis skills, with the ability to find truth within data sets
  • Knowledge of general accounting processes and procedures
  • Ability to hold others accountable for action items in various meetings
  • Works well independently while simultaneously demonstrating effective analytical / problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain high level of ethics and confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask in a sometimes-rapid paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess the skill to adapt and learn on the fly given frequent changes of course towards requests and research

Salary Min : 75,000

Salary Max : 90,000
