Electrical Field Service Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Field Services Engineer to be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems and control equipment for industrial clients.
The role requires a highly skilled engineer with expertise in power systems, automation, and control technologies.
Electrical Field Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams to ensure proper system operation
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to existing electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical issues, utilizing various testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other automation systems to meet client specifications.
- Ensure proper integration of control systems with machinery and power systems.
- Work with clients to provide technical support, train operators, and offer system optimization solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service reports, system updates, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
Electrical Field Service Engineer Position Requirements
- 5 years of experience preferred
- Fluent with PLC’s, process controllers, instruments, and other electrical devices
- Knowledgeable in Medium voltage systems and gear
- Ability to service and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems up to 15kv
- Up to date knowledge of technology including electrical, controls and willingness to learn and implement new technology
- Familiar with general industrial codes and requirements including electrical and controls / instrumentation
- Ability to identify best practices and recommend solutions for electrical, controls / instrumentation, PLC's, VFD's, Pneumatics, hydraulics etc.
- Strong mechanical skills, working with various hand tools and equipment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
