Senior System Administrator

Description

SAIC is seeking a System Administrator in support of North American Aerospace Defense Command

NORAD) / United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) Information Technology (IT)

Enterprise Services (NITES). The purpose of NITES is to enable the J6 to provide enterprise ITSM in a consistent, reliable, and cost-effective manner in support of N&NC mission.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

• The maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, applications, and servers. In addition to identifying and fixing any system issues, also includes making updates to the equipment and software to ensure they are current and installing hardware and software and conducting analysis to improve systems.
• Ensure availability of 24 / 7 system administration support according to the N&NC Tier Support Requirements during normal work hours and on-call during off-hours.
• Maintain, configure, and operate network servers, server virtualization systems, laptops, desktops, VDI, and supporting software / hardware as defined in the N&NC Service Catalog while also meeting the performance objectives and thresholds defined therein.
• Ensure 24 / 7 / 365 systems availability both on-site during normal work hours and on-call during off-hours.
• Perform server administration tasks, including user / group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, and resource monitoring;

ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly. This includes building, testing, and maintaining, and decommissioning servers as they are added and removed from the network.

Perform application administration tasks, including evaluating, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting operating systems and other software applications to meet N&NC requirements.

This includes ensuring software utilized is patched and / or updated to newer versions as required and in compliance with N&NC and DoD policy.

• Manage and maintain an accurate Software Catalog of all software authorized and supported on N&NC networks and systems.
• Meter software utilization and track licensing of software owned by N&NC, managing and manage the installation and removal of software to ensure N&NC stays within procured licenses

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in related field plus 5 years of experience or additional years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
• IAT Level II certification such as Security + is a requirement for this position
• Secret clearance

Desired Certifications :

• CompTIA Server+
• Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate
• VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)

Target salary range : $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
