A correctional facility is seeking a family medicine nurse practitioner for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located less than 30 from Madison, Wisconsin.
The corrections position requires a credentialing process of approximately four weeks. The work schedule can be either Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM or four ten-hour shifts.
The patient population consists of adult males in a minimum-security setting. The facility uses Cerner as its electronic medical record (EMR) system and will provide extensive training.
Required certifications include board eligibility or board certification, BLS, a DEA license, a Wisconsin license, and three referencestwo of which must be from supervisors.
The role involves handling procedures related to injuries, acute illnesses, follow-ups, and physicals. There is a health services manager (HSM) on-site for additional support, along with a team of support staff available as needed.
