The Matian Firm is looking for an Immigration Legal Assistant to join our growing EOIR team. You will report directly to the EOIR Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and case management skills. We're looking for someone with knowledge of the immigration court procedures, bond proceedings, and BIA and 9th Circuit motions / appeals.

This paralegal will participate in all aspects of our court cases, including assisting in the management of client relationships, case review, analysis, preparation and filing family-based petitions.

Responsibilities

Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the Immigration Court, BIA and 9th Circuit, when applicable.

  • Communicate with clients and attorneys for the preparation of upcoming Master, Bond, and Individual hearings.
  • Oversee status of cases through utilization of case management and billing systems to meet both internal and external deadlines.
  • Follow internal office procedures.
  • Make regular updates to our case management system including client information, case tracking information, and client communications.
  • Maintain electronic copy files and documents to support all immigration activity on behalf of clients.
  • Ensure that clients are kept informed on the progress of their cases.
  • Assist attorneys and other team members to manage caseload.
  • Complete assignments and communicate case progress on a weekly basis.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years of Immigration Law experience.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience with EOIR. Knowledge with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Case Management Software, such as Clio and Airtable

Pay Range : $20-$30 / hr

Pay ranges can be exceeded depending on experience on a case by case basis.
