Description : Position Summary

Primary responsibilities of the Sales Associate / Cashier position are to maintain customer service, generate sales, merchandise product, and process cash register sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Major Responsibilities for Sales Associate / Cashier Position :

• Commit to great customer service, team participation, continued learning, and integrity.
• Greet customers and work with them tactfully and pleasantly; answering questions and providing information on merchandise, promotions and advertisements.
• Aid customers in locating merchandise in store, on acehardware.com, and process their special orders.
• Promptly answer phone calls and provide necessary telephone customer service.
• Operate cash register accurately and efficiently for purchase and return transactions.
• Maintain and uphold orderly, clean and stocked appearance standards of register area and sales floor.
• Help process new shipments and keep the receiving / back stock area clean and organized.
• Support inventory maintenance by stocking, facing and cleaning. Assist in the training and development of peers.
• Perform other tasks as periodically assigned by management, such as deliveries and assembly of product.
• Be vigilant and conscientious to recognize potential shoplifting activities. Be compliant of all safety standards.
• Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards account.
