Gulf Breeze Recovery, a locally owned state-of-the-art substance abuse treatment facility in Gulf Breeze proper, is looking for a registered nurse (RN) for our detoxification / residential facility.

Our detoxification component is small, just consisting of five beds. The residential program consists of only 26 beds. No one is forced to attend our facility against their will.

Our patients, who we refer to as guests, voluntarily attend our program to overcome addiction problems.

We serve fresh, well-balanced meals prepared on site by our chef three times a day that employees say is one of the best perks of the job! If you are looking for a better work environment, this position may be for you!

JOB SUMMARY

RN is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for guests who are detoxifying from substance dependency.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Evaluate patients and complete admission history. Administer medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies.

Carry out a plan of care and medication orders from medical director. Educate clients regarding potential side effects of medications / observe for side effects.

Monitor clients for substance misuse and related withdrawal symptoms. Obtain vital signs, alcohol breath content; conduct blood glucose level, and urinalysis testing.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current RN license must be in good standing. Experience with documentation entry. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

Ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrate customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.

Ability to assess needs & deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance abuse. Ability to screen for withdrawal symptoms.

Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities. Demonstrate adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
