Operations Manager Injection Molding
We've been retained by a rapidly growing precision plastic injection molding manufacturer located in the Rochester, NY area.
They're looking for an Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day production for their North American manufacturing plant.
This is a small but growing tier 2 automotive supplier that manufactures plastic injection molded components, sub-assemblies, and complete devices.
This is a European owned company with approximately 900 employees across various engineering and production sites in Europe, the USA, and China.
Their passion lies in pushing the boundaries of precision plastics technology for the automotive industry!
As the Operations Manager, you'll be a key person on the plant's senior leadership team, overseeing a 3-shift non-union manufacturing operation, and will be a catalyst for their growth strategy in North America.
Additionally, you'll be the driving force behind plant operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and growth. You'll oversee everything from production shifts to automation, maintenance, and operational support, while shaping the strategic direction of the company.
What You'll Do :
- Champion operational efficiency and continuously improve processes.
- Achieve and exceed performance targets using key KPIs, budgets, and forecasts.
- Lead daily production priorities, ensuring smooth fulfillment of customer orders.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to resolve quality issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Drive lean and improvement initiatives, creating impact across multiple departments.
- Build and grow your team by recruiting, training, and developing talent.
- Influence and execute strategic plans with a focus on automation and operational excellence.
- Establish a strong operational foundation to support and sustain business growth.
What You Bring :
- Expertise : Experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing, with a strong understanding of modern quality standards (ISO 9001, TS 16949) and production management principles.
- Experience :
o 5+ years in a management or supervisory role in manufacturing.
o Proven background in lean manufacturing practices.
o Prefer deep knowledge of the automotive industry (Tier 1 / 2 experience is a plus).
- Education : a BS degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline.
- Skills : Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Skilled at managing people and processes while staying detail-oriented.
