Job Summary
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Budget and Resource Planning is responsible for leading the formulation and management of the Institute’s budget and crafting a comprehensive financial planning strategy aligned with the Institution's mission and priorities.
The AVP conducts intricate financial analyses, acts as a consultant in shaping budget and financial planning policies, and implements industry best practices in these processes.
The AVP fosters collaborative relationships with senior university officers and other stakeholders to facilitate the creation of both short-term and long-term financial plans throughout the organization.
Additionally, the AVP plays a pivotal role in collaboratively leading an analytics team tasked with designing, developing, and implementing predictive analytics;
utilizing business intelligence reports and dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration, financial planning or related field
- Eight (8) or more years of experience collaborating with a team of analysts; coordinating their efforts to investigate new functionality, designing, configuring, documenting, testing, and implementing data analytics and Business Intelligence enhancements and upgrades.
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in accounting, business administration, financial planning or related field
- Working knowledge of Banner or a similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
- Experience in higher education or research setting
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills
- Ability to relate and build strong relationships with individuals from diverse communities and cultures at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of fund-based budgeting in a non-profit setting
- Advanced knowledge of financial software; including MS Excel, MS Access, and business intelligence applications
- Ability to learn and / or use SCT Banner finance, position control and labor modules, or other appropriate applications
- Excellent data evaluation skills, and the ability to extract and interpret data from a variety of sources
- Ability to effectively present information to internal and external audiences
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others to meet organizational goals
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives

Business Hours : Monday - Friday
Starting Salary / Rate
Expected hiring range : $185,000 - $250,000
Pay transparency disclosure : The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials.
