Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) seeks an innovative, collaborative, mission-aligned and strategic leader to serve in the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Hospital Transformation .
Reporting directly to Dr. Laurie H. Glimcher, President & CEO, and to Dr. William Hahn, EVP & COO, this SVP will oversee transition planning and execution of a new collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIMC) and will spearhead the planning and construction of the proposed Dana-Farber Cancer Institute free-standing, 300 bed, adult inpatient New Cancer Hospital.
- This highly visible and impactful leader will be accountable for managing a $ billion capital budget; building the multi-million-dollar operating budget with eventual oversight of a significant number of direct and indirect FTEs;
- advancing all aspects of the DFCI and BIMC partnership to include operationalizing the affiliation between both organizations;
and working closely with each institutionâ€s executive leadership, Trustees, faculty and staff, Patient and Family Advisory Committee, and other key constituents including governmental agencies at the city, State levels and partnering with local communities.
- Spearheading the DFCI and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center joint development and execution of strategy for cancer care.
- Oversight of the New Cancer Hospital construction project delivery team.
- Management of $ capital project budget and schedule and leading all aspects of plan for care delivery processes and systems.
- Creating and stewarding the New Cancer Hospital operating budget.
- Directing the operational integration that ensures seamless transitions of care.
- Overseeing regulatory compliance in acquisition of New Cancer Hospital operating license and for related programmatic accreditation start up and maintenance.
- Overall team management including staff recruitment, retention and development and monitoring performance through development of meaningful dashboards and metrics.
Qualifications :
- MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent degree required.
- A minimum of 10-15 years professional experience in hospital operations, hospital administration / management experience required, preferably in an academic medical center, cancer center or health system.
- Proven leadership with demonstrated excellence in collaboration, communication, presentation skills, influence, relationships, and the ability to deliver superior execution across large scale, and highly matrix operations.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and will take into consideration a base midpoint of $550K. Significant bonus potential, relocation, and a generous benefits package will be offered.
