Forklift Operator - Clamp Exp Preferred
POSITION SUMMARY :
Safely and efficiently stage, load, and unload finished product and raw materials through the use of material handling equipment, attachments, tools and accessories.
Stock and maintain warehouse inventory & warehouse cleanliness at all times ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Essential Functions include but are not limited to :
- Outbound and inbound inventory receiving, etc,
- Complete damage reports, product, wrapping, pallet, bundle, crate, etc.
- Safely and timely prepare and load products for transport.
- Safely and timely stage products for loading.
- Safely and timely load products onto truck, and / or railcar.
- Move products safely into warehouse inventory storage.
- Move waste & scrap into dumpsters as needed.
- Responsible for quality control - damaged products.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Operate sit down forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Perform daily forklift safety checks, preventive maintenance and report any issues.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors.
- Keep clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and applicable state certification for forklifts.
- 2+ years of forklift experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience. Clamp exp preferred.
- Good oral English and written communication skills.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
- Ability to stay a team player and meet deadlines.
