This leader will be our customers' best advocate, driving ideation and solving complex problems in one of the fastest growing segments of the Retail business.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment. This role requires an individual who strives to answer business / operational questions and who works across functional boundaries.

You will transform data into actionable insights and enjoy taking a data-driven approach to solving complex business problems.

You will work on highly ambiguous problems with stakeholders across multiple business, science, and tech teams in Catalog, Shopping, compliance, and Selling Partner Services.

This role comes at the intersection of business, technology, statistics, and data mining. To succeed in this role you should be passionate about working with large datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer key business questions.

You should have deep expertise in the creation and management of datasets and a proven track record of pulling data through SQL and translating that data into meaningful insights to answer key business questions.

In this role, you will have ownership of end-to-end development of reports and solutions to complex questions and you’ll play an integral role in strategic decision-making.

Key job responsibilities

  • Gather data and perform sophisticated analytical exercises
  • Employ data mining, and other analytical techniques to capture defects in catalog inputs
  • Drive standardization, simplification, and automation of internal processes and products
  • Manage weekly and monthly business reporting and create relevant measurement dashboards
  • Work with various stakeholders to understand business drivers, goals, and actionable outcomes using analytics

A day in the life

The successful candidate will be comfortable with advanced data mining techniques, have strong analytical and communication skills, and have a passion for using data to drive business decisions.

You develop strong working relationships with business partners (such as Legal, Compliance, Search, Catalog, and Vendor Management teams) to define and understand complex business questions and analyze data to identify the root cause and drive strategic business decisions.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning / driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience as a product manager or owner
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research

Additional Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
