Utah Community Action is hiring for an Assistant Pre-school Teacher in the Salt Lake area . The Assistant Teacher position earns a competitive wage of $20.

89 / hour. This is a year-round position that works 34 hours a week. 7 : 45am-4 : 15pm typical schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY

As an Assistant Teacher, you come to work each day excited and ready to make a difference in children's lives. Working cooperatively with two other teachers, you teach a class of approx.

18 children each, ages 3-5yrs. You help develop weekly lesson plans to ignite the curiosity and growth of the children in our preschool.

You assist the Lead Teacher in tracking each child's growth through observations, portfolio documentation, developmental checklist, and assessment data.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education / Family and Consumer Studies or a related field required.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assists in planning, supporting, and implementing learning experiences that advance the children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborates with others in identifying, referring and providing services and support to children with special needs.
  • Assists in developing, supporting, and implementing behavior plans and / or appropriate interventions.
  • Assists in conducting a minimum of two Home Visits and two Staff-Parent Conferences during the school year.
  • Continues professional development through research-based, coordinated coaching strategies, trainings, peer mentoring, and college classes.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment.
