Overview Position Summary : The Patient Services Rep I provides patient-families with a positive experience at CHLA by performing clerical tasks primarily associated with answering incoming calls, registration, and patient check-in / out procedures, collection of patient co-pay or deductibles, scheduling and verifying patient appointments.

Minimum Qualifications : 1-year experience in medical front office setting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required : Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred.

Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal effectively with the public. Basic knowledge of computers, filing and organizational skills.

Customer service experience in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with insurance processes. Proficiency in utilizing EMR systems, specifically KIDS and STAR, for creating encounters and scheduling.

Experience in assisting with scheduling and financial clearance of urgent appointments and coordinating these appointments with the appropriate provider(s).

Education / Licensure / Certifications : High school diploma or GED required. Schedule : Monday-Friday; 9 : 30am-6 : 30pm Pay Scale Information $38,272.

00-$65,062.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. We provide a competitive compensation package that recognizes your experience, credentials, and education alongside a robust benefits program to meet your needs.
