Summary

The Senior Manager - TPL Sales and Business Development will play a critical role in driving the growth of our freight forwarding services.

This position is responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing relationships with key clients, and strategically leading the business development team to achieve revenue targets.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the freight forwarding industry and possess the leadership skills needed to expand the company's market presence.

Compensation

$110,000-$125,000 / Annually (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selected)

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth and Business Strategy :
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the company's footprint in the freight forwarding market, focusing on services such as ocean freight, air freight, drayage, over-the-road trucking, and customs brokerage.
  • Identify new business opportunities, including emerging markets, strategic partnerships, and untapped customer segments.
  • Support and direct the inside sales team to drive sales and revenue targets, ensuring the company maintains a competitive edge in the marketplace.
  • Client Relationship Management :
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for both the company and the clients.
  • Conduct regular client reviews to understand their evolving needs and adapt services accordingly.
  • Market Research and Analysis :
  • Provide market intelligence reports and insights to help shape sales strategies and improve service offerings.
  • Review market rates and gather data for upper management to analyze and develop new customers.
  • Strategic Alignment with HOG :
  • Collaborate closely with the HOG to understand and execute the global & US business strategy.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on market trends, customer needs, and business performance to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Reporting and Documentation :
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business development progress.
  • Assist in preparing sales reports, forecasts, and performance summaries for senior management.
  • Collaboration with Operations and Finance :
  • Work closely with the operations and finance teams to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and that financial goals are met.
  • Coordinate with operations to manage freight shipments, resolve logistical challenges, and meet client expectations.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Korean required due to extremely high volume of communication with customers / vendors in Korea.
  • Intermediate-level MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Database Management are required.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking ability required.
  • General understanding of Supply Chain Management and the Logistics Industry are required.
  • Understanding of the full range of freight forwarding services, including movement, scheduling, monitoring and control services, cost optimization, and various industry-specific requirements.
  • Able to establish a business plan and proceed with new business developments and projects.
  • Must be proficient with PCs.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • 10-15 years of direct experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management (Required).
  • 10-15 years of experience in Business Sales and Management and Business Development (Preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit in front of a desk and / or in front of the computer for long periods.
  • Repetitive use of hand / grasping product, writing, and typing.
  • Stand / walk.
