Medix Infusion is seeking an experienced Floater PRN Infusion Nurse to join our team in Oregon. As a licensed PRN / RN, you will provide direct patient care, including (but not limited to) obtaining vital signs, initiating and maintaining peripheral intravenous (PIV) access for intravenous infusions, administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, and accurately documenting patient care.
The PRN / RN will ensure prescribed therapies are appropriate prior to administration and that all necessary components for safe medication administration have been met (including but not limited to lab results and assessment findings).
This is an onsite, as-needed float opportunity at our clinic in OR. The clinic is normally open Monday through Friday, from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 30 PM.
Traveling is required. You will be working as part of a small team with minimal supervision. Current locations in Oregon are : Beaverton, East Bend, Eugene, Medford, Salem and West Linn.
Medix Infusion provides personalized home and in-suite infusion therapy services for patients with chronic or acute conditions.
Our expert team is dedicated to making each patient's journey as easy as possible. We provide medical infusion therapies, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectable and infusion treatments.
Required Responsibilities :
- Facilitate patient consultation and health history review.
- Ensure prescribed therapy is appropriate for the patient.
- Provide ongoing care information and educational resources to patients and families.
- Provide direct patient care, including but not limited to : obtaining vital signs, PIV insertion, monitoring and removal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, medication administration, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line and midline maintenance care and removal, and maintenance of port access according to standards of practice.
- Maintain sterile technique while reconstituting and preparing medications per package insert guidelines.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all care delivered to patients in the infusion suite, including lab results, immunization records, and changes in condition.
- Facilitate communication with referring providers regarding patient care, medication administration, and tolerance.
- Provide oversight of Medical Assistants when staffing clinics and ensure safe, high-quality service / care is provided and documented accordingly.
- Monitor inventory and receive orders from approved vendors and pharmacies.
- Track, order, and distribute patient-specific medications from specialty pharmacy providers. Ensure medications are stored in the appropriate environment (shelf versus refrigerator).
- Monitor and clean suite equipment to ensure safe functionality and report concerns when appropriate.
- Participate in company physical inventories per policy.
- Track, monitor, and perform inventory functions in Infuse Flow, including cycle inventory counts.
- Delegate tasks to other personnel in the suite when appropriate.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry.
- Display a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
- Interact in an honest, trustworthy, and dependable manner with patients, employees, and vendors.
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Maintain professional licensure, certification, and health requirements as required for this position.
- Remain competent and knowledgeable in medications administered.
- Deliver safe, prudent care to patients while monitoring care delivered by ancillary support staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in direct patient care.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Willingness to travel to all major cities in OR.
- Current, unrestricted state Registered Nurse license.
- Record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment, as evidenced by positive employment references.
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, INS, and ACHC guidelines and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with Medix Infusion staff, vendors, and patients.
- Ability to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Medix Infusion team.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office programs and Microsoft Teams for communication, accessing company policies, and electronic medical records.
- Competence in using company self-service payroll software (time and attendance, benefits, pay statements).
- Proficiency in the operation of InfuseFlow and RX Tool Kit.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading.
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision.
Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
